Have you heard about the #MyYGK Mixer?
On December 1st, we will be holding our third #MyYGK Mixer here at the Webworks headquarters. We started this event because we saw a need for a networking event that involved men and women coming together in a professional atmosphere to connect, celebrate successes, and strengthen the business community. Rather than at a bar or restaurant, we wanted it to be a warm and welcoming setting filled with a variety of great food and drinks. Luckily we have a beautiful, open-concept office space in the heart of downtown Kingston that is perfect for hosting events.
We didn’t know what to expect when it came to inviting strangers into our office, offering them food and drinks, and expecting them to talk to us about the successes they have contributed to in this lovely little city! The outcome was overwhelming and we have developed so many amazing relationships because of it. The community in Kingston has a way of making you feel special whether you are donating your time, services, or even just advice to those in need. There is always someone to step up and take the lead on getting organizations together and raising awareness for any issues at need. It’s an amazing group to be a part of and we can’t get over how many people have helped us develop our business in this short time since we started Webworks. We have been making a conscious effort to give back and help out with charitable organizations since we started the business. It’s a humbling experience and the team here is always available and willing to help others out when in need!
This year’s Holiday Mixer is happening on December 1st at 7 pm and we are so excited to have local talent, Emily Bashall, performing for the evening! She is an amazing musician and will make a great addition to the event. With a mix of her own songs, Christmas hits, and top 40, we are hoping to please everyone with her selection of music. It’s important for us to support local talent and Emily fits right into that category.
At each of our past mixers, we have been so fortunate to have local restaurants sponsor the event and this year is no exception! Aquaterra, Jack Astors, BluMartini, Blackdog Catering and more have been kind enough to sponsor the Holiday Mixer with appetizers for guests to snack on while mingling. This year it’s been incredible to see so many local businesses reach out and ask how they can get involved. It’s another great example of how this community works together to make great things happen.
By attending other local networking events in the city we have met some amazing people, and learned so much about what Kingston has to offer when it comes to small businesses. We are members of The Chamber of Commerce and try to attend most of the events hosted by them. It’s always a good time and we are constantly meeting new people. Many of these new contacts have already RSVP’ed for our mixer and we’re so excited to catch up with them.
Throughout the year we have hosted free monthly marketing workshops, and our attendees from all workshops have been invited to the mixer. This gives us a chance to check in with them and see how the workshops have helped their business grow in the last 12 months. It also allows them to network amongst the other guests and build relationships- what else are mixers for?
We hope you can join us in making this the best #MyYGK Mixer yet! If you are a business owner, community leader, or someone who strives on networking, please join us by RSVP’ing here. We look forward to meeting you!
